Municipal Demand Side Management (MuDSM) is the program to improve overall energy efficiency of the Urban Local Bodies (ULBs) to the tune of 25-40%. The main focus on energy efficiency in ULBs is on street lighting, water / sewage pumping and building. Punjab has 13 Municipal Corporations and 167 no. ULBs. Various workshops / training programmes on Municipal Demand side managment have been organised from time to time in Punjab for all ULB Officers from Municipal Corporations, Councils, Improvement Trusts, Nagar Panchayats, etc. The workshops have been organized in Municipal Corporations as per guidelines of Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Ministry of Power, Govt. of India.

There are few online training programs to be organized through webinars in the year 2020-21 for all ULB Officers from Municipal Corporations, Councils, Improvement Trusts, Nagar Panchayats, etc. The trainings are to be conducted in consultation with Punjab Energy Development Agency (PEDA), Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE), Department of Local Government, Municipal Corporations & ULBs etc. to discuss the importance of energy saving, water saving and Implementation strategy of Energy Efficiency projects.
